Military Construction
MPS Engineering & Construction is proud to serve the military community, bringing decades of expertise in building and maintaining mission-critical infrastructure for the armed forces. Our deep understanding of military operations, security protocols, and facility requirements allows us to deliver projects that meet the highest standards of durability, functionality, and efficiency.
Leadership with Military Experience
Our President, L. Kai Yeh, PE, is a former U.S. Naval Academy graduate and was commissioned as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer. With over 20 years of experience working on military installations, he has firsthand knowledge of the unique challenges, regulations, and operational needs that come with military construction. His leadership ensures that every project MPS undertakes aligns with the stringent quality and security standards required by the Department of Defense.
Extensive Background in Military Facility Management
Mr. Yeh previously served as the base operations manager for the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center in Charleston, South Carolina, where he played a critical role in overseeing the maintenance, upgrades, and capital improvements of key infrastructure. In this position, he programmed and managed projects for industrial, commercial, historical, and specialty buildings, fuel farm and storage facilities, warehousing and logistics hubs, and critical infrastructure for military readiness.
His ability to efficiently allocate resources and manage complex military projects earned him the Navy Achievement Medal, a recognition of his outstanding contribution to facility management and mission support.
Expertise in Military Construction
MPS has a deep-rooted understanding of military facility requirements, ensuring that every project is designed and executed to enhance operational readiness and support the military’s mission. We specialize in new military facility construction, renovations and retrofits, industrial and logistics centers, secure operations and command centers, and housing and barracks for military personnel.
MPS adheres to federal construction standards, anti-terrorism force protection requirements, and sustainability initiatives to ensure that our projects support both short-term operational goals and long-term infrastructure resilience.
Understanding Military Needs and Communication
One of the key advantages of working with MPS is our ability to communicate effectively with military personnel, contractors, and leadership. Mr. Yeh’s extensive background allows him to speak the language of military engineers, planners, and facility managers, ensuring that project requirements are clearly understood and executed without delays or miscommunication.
Our team works closely with military end users to ensure that facilities are designed with operational effectiveness in mind, base commanders and facility managers to align construction with long-term planning and readiness strategies, and government agencies and procurement officers to ensure compliance with military construction standards and contract requirements.
